WILD GOOSE FARM

Nurturing Ourselves and Raising Engaged Healthy Kids

A Parenting Discussion Group

Parenting is important work. For many of us it is the most rewarding and the most the challenging job we’ve ever had. I will lead a four part discussion group series for parents and grandparents raising the next generation of engaged happy and healthy children.  This series is designed to be a space in which to provide information and support for one another. As parents we are facing new and daunting challenges on our time, our family’s health, our community connections and media. To meet these challenges, we need to ensure we take time to nurture and care for our own needs.

Together we will meet once a week for four weeks this fall (2019).  I’ll provide a simple organic delicious vegetarian meal at each gathering. After sharing conversation together over dinner, I’ll give a short introduction to the discussion topic for that evening.  We’ll divide the rest of our time together between small and large group discussion and will do a hands on activity related to topic.

We’ll discuss the importance of and the “how to’s” of self care, making healthy food choice, in particular how these choices affect the health and wellbeing of our children and the planet, and we will discuss different ways to raise emotionally resilient children in a fast-paced technology-driven, and environmentally toxic world.

The group will meet on a weekday chosen by the group from 4:30-6:30pm. A minimum of 6 participants is needed.  Cost: $100 for 4 sessions/ ½ price for Wild Goose Farm members. Scholarships available.
